Hello. Returned from a biomedical informatics conference last week, learning the computational side of biology. Im beginning to see the opportunities in health informatics, its the revolution. I had an extra day off, you already know I had to browse the haute horology available down in Melbourne.
Great to catch up with my boy Craigus Malaigus at the Tobys Estate (THE BEST COFFEE ROASTING HOUSE EVER) signature cafe. We journeyed to the Swiss watch boutiques; Tag Heuer, Watches of Switzerland, Montblanc, Rolex, Cartier and The Hour Glass. We were interested to see the new smartwatch pieces put up by Swiss manufacturers.. unfortunately, neither Tag (Tag Heuer Connected) or Montblanc (TimeWalker E-Strap) had their smartwatch examples available. Have a look online if your interested and share your thoughts with me.
However at Watches of Switzerland we did get the opportunity to view timepieces from A. Lange & Sohne, one of the most revered boutiques from Germany. The quality and finish on these pieces are beyond exceptional, everything perfected by hand. No wonder their entry level pieces start ~$30k… Daniel had told me about his experience seeing A. Lange before, but I had to see it to believe it. Below is a photo of the ALS Lange 1 Time Zone, a real beauty.
I haven’t had this much fun with watches since being in Singapore. Shout out to Claire at Watches of Switzerland for looking after us, exceptional customer relations.
You can take it as insight, or you can take it as Just BS.
