Hello. Long weekend here in Adelaide, took the weekend off to refresh and recharge the mind.
Had a brunch meeting Saturday morning with great friend and local young businessman, Daniel. We went to The Coffee Club North Terrace, one of my favourite cafes for lunch/coffee, the staff there really are excellent. Highly reccomended for a casual outing in the city.
I also had the pleasure of a dinner sitting at the new modern greek restaurant OLEA, in Electra House, with my favourite person. The $10M revelopment of the old 1910 building on King William St has been executed perfectly to create Electra House/Electra Bar. Let me just start with saying the overall experience there was exceptional! The customer interaction and service was just brilliant; the staff were very friendly and accomodating with organising a booking (I only called on Friday!).
The restaurant is elegant, with a warm ambience and minimalistic decor. The dishes are mezze style for sharing, and the food was delicious. Started off with the Crispy Calamari entree. No that is not activated charcoal (LOL), its the mavro aioli. Went on to have the Slow Braised Lamb Shoulder main, which was cooked perfectly ^_^
Our experience and satisfaction at the establishments were heavily tied with the customer service that was received. In the current economic climate, it seems many businesses are overlooking this basic, and focusing on driving profits. An investment of time with the customer pays the best returns. Customer service is priceless, so put forward your best efforts to build a relationship with the consumer.
The forgotten basic of customer service is nicely discussed in Daniel's latest blog post here;
And yes I will be telling everyone about OLEA. And yes I will be dining there again soon.
You can take it as insight, or you can take it as Just BS.
